A meaningful jewelry collection deserves a careful insurance review. A homeowners policy may include jewelry, but special limits and exclusions can leave valuable pieces with less protection than expected.

Compare the available options

Ask your advisor to compare your existing policy with a scheduled jewelry endorsement or a separate valuable articles policy. Review each option’s limits, deductible, covered causes of loss and settlement terms. Do not assume that accidental loss, worldwide travel or a zero deductible is included.

Keep your collection documented

Maintain photographs, receipts and appraisals in a secure location. Confirm the insurer’s appraisal requirements and review values when your collection changes.

Discuss storage and travel

Before moving jewelry into or out of a vault, ask whether notification or special conditions apply. Safe-storage discounts and travel provisions depend on the insurer and policy.

GALT can help you review the details and discuss available options. Request a review to start the conversation.

Coverage, eligibility, pricing, deductibles and discounts vary. The issued policy’s terms, conditions and exclusions govern coverage.
